The Clinical Cardiac Coordinator (Lead Sonographer) is responsible for performing cardiac ultrasound examinations of patients, including complex and specialized procedures. They also serve as the lead sonographer, coordinating and monitoring the work of subordinate staff, providing training to student sonographers, and overseeing the lab's accreditation. CPR certification is required, and candidates must have at least one year of experience performing cardiac ultrasound examinations. Physical requirements for the role include the ability to sit or stand for extended periods, lift up to 50 pounds, read patient and clinical test information, perform repetitive motions, hear normal speech, concentrate and make decisions, and work in an environment with potential exposure to hazardous materials, infectious agents, and radiation.
