Participants can take the course at their own pace, but it must be completed within 12 months. Completion of the course evaluation is necessary to receive 6 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits and a certificate of completion. The course is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education, and physicians should claim credits based on their participation.<br /><br />The schedule of topics for each week includes a review of heart failure definitions, epidemiology, causes, patient presentation, and diagnosis. Other topics include guideline-directed medical therapy, novel therapies, sudden cardiac death prevention, advanced therapies, patient volume management strategies, cardiomyopathies, genetic considerations, and heart failure case studies. The instructors reserve the right to make modifications to the course material as needed.
