Welcome to the peripheral vascular disease module within the APP MedAxium Academy. We are thrilled that you have joined us to learn more about peripheral vascular disease. In the next four modules, we will walk you through peripheral arterial disease, including medical management and interventional management. We will also spend one module on vascular disease that includes carotid, subclavian, mesenteric and renal disease. And then finally, a module on venous disease, including venous thromboembolism. Our faculty for this course is Christy Willox. Christy Willox is a nurse practitioner who received her bachelor's degree in nursing and later completed her master's of science in nursing at East Tennessee State University in Johnson City, Tennessee. She has spent over 20 years working as a nurse practitioner in both general cardiology and interventional vascular disease management. Along with her clinical work, she acts as a manager of her APP team within her organization, has put together onboarding and orientation strategies, including education within her own team to create a competent APP workforce. She currently works at Ballard CDA Heart Institute in Kingsport, Tennessee, which has allowed her the privilege to act as a sub-investigator in many national and international vascular research trials. She has served as adjunct faculty and presenter at both the International Symposium of Endovascular Therapy and Viva Vascular Conferences for the last several years. She is truly an expert in the vascular space. Again, we are thrilled and honored to have her provide this content to you, and we look forward to you becoming more knowledgeable in the space of peripheral vascular disease. Thank you for joining and taking the course.
