A Diagnostic Pathway Post Cryptogenic Stroke
A Diagnostic Pathway Post Cryptogenic Stroke
Webinar Description
Up to 25% of strokes are cryptogenic strokes (CS). Atrial fibrillation (AF), an irregular heart rhythm, is believed to be the cause of up to 30% of CS strokes. This creates an imperative for cardiologists and neurologists, and their support staff, to collaborate on proper identification of AF among our patients. Spectrum Health has developed a multi-disciplinary approach, utilizing prolonged cardiac rhythm monitoring to ensure patients are appropriately diagnosed with AF, and thus lowering their risk of experiencing another stroke. The initiative has streamlined workflows, increased efficiencies, and most importantly, improved patient outcomes.
