Course Overview and Syllabus

The Cardiovascular Business and Management Essentials Program is an exclusive partnership between the Aresty Institute of Executive Education of the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and MedAxiom. The program is designed to equip cardiovascular clinicians and administrators with the tools and techniques for defining and achieving personal and professional success with a focus on healthcare operations, economics, change leadership and people management. Review the syllabus for complete program information, including a schedule. 

CME/Certificate: This program has been approved for up to 34 CME hours. In addition, participants who meet the program requirements outlined in the syllabus will be issued a digital badge and certificate from Wharton Online.

The Methodology

This 13-week, self-paced online program includes:

  • 13 weeks asynchronous + embedded synchronous sessions.
  • Two reading weeks are integrated into the program for learners to catch up on coursework.

Program Requirements:

  1. Complete each asynchronous module within the Canvas platform:
    • Time commitment: 3-4 hours per module
    • Pace: Self-Paced
    • Deadline For Participation: All videos must be viewed, and all assessments/worksheets must be completed by 11:59p ET on July 21, 2023
  • Expectations:
    • Watch all lecture content
    • Complete required assessments for all modules
    • Complete worksheets in preparation for virtual faculty sessions
    • Participate thoughtfully in discussion forums (optional)

Passing Grade: Earn a of 100% on each assessment question; worksheets are graded complete/incomplete

CME/Certificate: Application for CME credit has been filed. Determination of credit is pending for Wharton Program – Cohort 2. In addition, participants who meet the program requirements outlined in the syllabus will be issued a digital badge and certificate from Wharton Online.
