AI Coronary CTA Analysis in the Modern Cardiology Practice - The Downstream Results of A New Standard of Care
Webinar Description
In the latest Medaxiom webinar, Joe Jasser, M.D., Chief Operating Officer of Cleerly, speaks with Jason H. Cole, M.D., MSc, FACC about how AI-enabled coronary computed tomography angiography (CCTA) analysis is supporting a new standard of value-based cardiac care.

CCTA is a Level 1A in the American College of Cardiology / American Heart Association's guideline for diagnosing chest pain. It accurately measures the volume and type of atherosclerosis, which is the strongest predictor of cardiovascular disease and the risk of future heart attack. On its own, CCTA provides a level of diagnostic accuracy as good or better than other procedures. What’s more, using CT scanning technology makes it more readily accessible and less expensive than services traditionally available only at inpatient cardiology units.

But, the true value of CCTA emerges when it’s combined with personalized analytics, powered by Artificial Intelligence. By pairing scan images with an assessment of plaque volume severity, it’s possible to identify the stage of atherosclerotic plaque burden – and determine cardiovascular disease risk – in a manner that’s never been possible before.

This approach has significant potential to support value-based care. Physicians can receive treatment recommendations that forego invasive procedures that may not be necessary. Plus, patients benefit as well – they receive a clearer picture of their cardiovascular disease risk and can work with their doctor to improve their heart health.
