The webinar titled "Advanced Scheduling & Billing Tactics for Cardiac Device Clinics" hosted key industry professionals including Joy Lewis (Dignity Health), Nichole LeBlanc Butler, and Yanet Pineda (both from Baylor College of Medicine), and Emma Chamberlain from Vector Remote Care. The event was moderated by Mitchell Fong of Innovise Consulting, who has extensive experience in healthcare leadership and digital transformation.

The webinar focused on several key aspects of remote monitoring (RM) for cardiac device clinics, including recent changes in CIED RM workflows, challenges and best practices for RM patient management, measures for program success, and the benefits of RM solutions. It also highlighted the potential future advancements in the field.

Some significant accomplishments shared included improved patient connectivity rates, streamlined workflows saving full-time employee (FTE) equivalents, and exceptional patient satisfaction scores. For example, Joy Lewis’s team achieved a 94% patient connectivity and significantly improved patient enrollment ratios. Similarly, Nichole LeBlanc Butler and Yanet Pineda's team at Baylor attained a dramatic increase in patient compliance and connectivity.

Emma Chamberlain from Vector Remote Care discussed how their platform alleviates the workload associated with CIED and heart failure remote monitoring. Achievements with Vector's platform include 98% patient compliance and a 92% reduction in transmission review time.

The discussion also touched on current challenges such as data management burdens, patient connectivity and compliance, and inefficiencies in workflows. They noted an industry shift towards alert-based rather than calendar-based scheduling for remote monitoring follow-ups. Regulatory updates and new coding requirements were also discussed, highlighting the additional administrative burdens and risks associated with these changes.

Finally, panelists emphasized the importance of adapting to these evolving challenges to improve patient care and clinic efficiency while navigating regulatory changes and billing complexities.
